Our Mission

A quality education is a fundamental right of every individual.
All students at Haleyville High School will receive the respect, encouragement, and opportunities they need to build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be productive citizens.

BELIEFS:

  • Student learning should be the chief priority and primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.
  • Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles.
  • Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process and are given equal opportunities for success.
  • A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.
  • The school should provide guidance as students prepare for life-long learning and fulfillment of future educational, career, and personal goals.
  • Students should demonstrate responsible social and moral conduct: respect, honesty, courtesy, self-control, and citizenship.
  • Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.
  • Positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff enhance a student’s self-esteem.
  • All learning should be meaningful to students, require high levels of thinking, involve problem-solving skills, simulate real-life work, and incorporate technology for the twenty-first century.
